Over the past 14 years, Avante Records has been privileged to impact the hearts of hundreds of thousands of music lovers throughout the world. What started out as a dream in the basement of Marshall & Malynda’s St. Vital side by side, has grown to become one of the leading artist development companies in the Canadian Christian music scene.
After incorporating in 1997 as the music group “Avante”, Marshall and Malynda began impacting the Canadian scene with concert tours and record production. In 2000, they launched a Christian night club offering an energized, safe, party atmosphere and began running a Battle of the Bands in a first step to furthering artist development. The band competition later went on to become the CHVN Manitoba Christian Talent Search, pulling in great crowds and inspiring a core group of artists with a healthy, fun competitive development opportunity.
By 2001, AR had consummated a long term relationship with local media organization Family Life Network, adding a world class recording studio, and the beginnings of an intern/mentorship program which would eventually produce multiple award winning albums, and launch the careers of a plethora of talented artists, speakers, musicians and producers!

Throughout this tenure, Marshall and the AR team wore many hats in the name of artist development, including but not limited to engineer, musician, producer, manager, mixer, financier, booking agent, publicist, songwriter, and marketing machine. It was through this diverse skillset, and a willingness to invest in new artists, and new ideas, that continued to keep the candle burning at both ends, and forging a reputation of innovation, excellence and integrity.
